The photos in the Gallery Brittany II were made in August 2017 in the area between Saint Brieuc and Cap Frehel in the Departement Cotes-d’Armor. Camera was the Mamiya 645 Pro with lenses from 35 to 500 mm. All frames were shot on Ilford FP4 developed in Rodinal.
At the Viaduc des Ponts Neufs I had to wait quite some time for the sun moving behind the bridge from the chosen point of view. The photo “Closed” was made on the beach promenade of Pléneuf-Val-André. The huge lid of this outlet need the sun from the side so that the bars on it would create the shadows that I had in mind when I first sow this feature. The “Wind Shaped” trees at the coastline south of Pléneuf-Val-André form a nice wooden tunnel and make a great motive; the “Uprooted” trees were right next to them. “Seaborne” and “Sunset Bath” were more or less experimental. I had never used before 500 m lens with a 2x tele-converter giving a 1000 mm focal length. The two prints of the oyster farm “Half Tide” and “High Key Oysters” were both made from the same negative but on grade 3.5 and 5 respectively. The Abey of Beauport makes great black and white motives. I added a few items to the category steps and stairs that I like.
