Selinunte in south-western Sicily was one of the earliest Greek colonies in the Mediterranean. Several impressive Greek temples were built in a relatively short period of time. These are today part of Europe’s largest Archaeological Park.
During some archaeoseismological filed work, I took the opportunity to make some photos of the so called Temples C and E. The latter has been partially re-erected (anastylosis). The photos in Gallery Selinunte were taken in the evening hours when the low sun produces marvelous shadows of the ancient columns. Camera was the Plaubel PL69 with Ilford FP4 film and Rodinal development.
